Fucking Muggles.

April 9, 1917.

Amazing how many people forget. Amazing how many people forgot. Amazing how many people never knew, cared or will care.

There is more Canadian blood spilled throughout Europe then there is on our own soil, and we forget. The sacrifice these people made for us is symbolized by monuments we never visit, a holiday we take for granted, and a plastic flower we hardly take the time to wear. If not for that sacrifice where would we be now. If not for that sacrifice what would the face of our nation be. It wasn't merely battle for democracy and freedom of Europe, but it was a defining moment in the birth of a nation.
My country born out of adversity, born from the spirit of the ultimate sacrifice, and in return we callously turn our back on the memory of those before us.

When you forget where you came from, you have no direction in where you are going. We as a nation are forgetting where we came from, we are becoming as rudderless as the U.S. It is not about November 11, or about a poppy, or about giving thanks. It is about not taking for granted those that sacrificed for us in the past, and sacrifice for us in the present. We lost 6 more today. While you may not agree with why they are there, we need to support them while they are there.

I am going to hell.

I just wrote an E-mail to the Pope.

No seriously.

I decided enough was enough. When the Pope is going to bring my country into a conversation and state that our tolerance is mere folly. I must say something. The man the world knows as the Pope was in millitary service during the etermination of the Jews. He is a man that heads a religion that preaches intolerance and hate. It singlehandedly kills more people everyday than any other religion known to man. It disapproves of birth control spreading HIV and unwanted pregnancy. It does not allow divorce, how many children are affected by these unloving relationships? It allows pedophiles to move freely throughout the church in order to hide from prosecution. It has destroyed civilizations, it has destroyed free thought, and it does this all in the name of God.

Like I said in my email to the Pope, and I think this is something you can all agree....

When the end comes, and we meet our maker, I hope that God passes judgement on us as a Canadian would, as opposed to passing judgement on us as a Roman Catholic.

When a church loses its way, and becomes a corporation why does nobody speak up?
God is watching. God is not happy.

On a side note....If Jesus does decided to come back, who the hell is going to believe him? I am assuming he will not be resurrected on live television, nor will it be in some major mall. So who will actually believe the man that claims to be the second coming of Christ? Just a thought.

The other woman...

I am in love with another woman. She completes me in a way my wife never could. She melts my heart with a single glance, and we can spend hours together, just holding eachother without having to say a word. My love for her is pure, genuine, and never complicated. It is without hesitation, and without condition. I will do anything for her, I will give my life for her. I know she will be mine for only a little while, and I will have to let her go at some point. However right now, she is mine, and right now is where I live. I live in these moments, and cherish them.

I love you Elayne.

PokerStars!

It is official. I am a poker superstar.....I finished 4th in a local casino tournament. Made a little money at that one.

It is like the door to good and evil has just opened. I can see both the sudden value and demise of my life. It is a delicate balance...the whole thing between addiction and winning. Addicted to the winning, addicted to the rush of the game, addicted to the battle of wills. I hate the losing. I hate the loss of money. Dammit, why does poker taunt me.

It is the best of times, it is the worst of times.

Oh for the love of....

Where do people get off? (no this is not a sexual post)

A garbage member of society, who is a convicted criminal, who is in breach of his probation, runs from police. The police chase him, send a police dog after him, and when the police dog catches him, he stabs the police dog repeatedly. As any good officer does, who sees a fellow officer in a life threatening situation, the partner draws his weapon and shoots this man several times.

You would think that is the end of the story....but no. The mother of the convicted dirtbag is complaining because police shouldn't have shot at her kid. Are you freaking kidding me? He was stabbing a police officer with a knife! You may wish to argue the point that it is only a dog, but a dog on duty is just as much a police officer as any person is. Someone needs to take this woman aside, and perhaps explain to her that it was her poor parenting that got her child shot, and not the bad and nasty police man.

Now here in Richmond there was a police chase. A woman in a vehicle who was known to police, and was known to be prohibited from driving was in a vehicle driving down the road. The police engage in an effort to pull her over, and she proceeds to speed away. The police are forced to chase this women in a high speed persuit. Now, you can again argue that perhaps high speed persuits are not the best option, however this woman has been prohibited from driving. There is a reason for that. Has she killed someone before? Is she a chronic drunk driver, which makes her a menace to society? Either way, the police engage her and she flees. During the pursuit, she strikes a vehicle driven by an innocent civilian and he is killed in the crash. My sympathies go out to that family, however now they are getting a lawyer and looking at suing the Richmond police force. This country is becoming more and more American everyday and it is frightening. If the family wishes to seek renumeration, which will not bring their father back, they need to seek it through the criminal, not the people doing their jobs. Had the police let her drive on by, and she killed someone else while driving while prohibited they would be dealing with the backlash of that. When will we stop blaming police for the actions of the criminals? If a death or damage, or any other event occurs that is the direct result of that initial criminal act, than it should be tacked on to your list of crimes. I don't care if because you are stealing a car, and a police officer responding to that runs over a pedestrian wearing all black, you are liable for that death. Murder One. Go to prison, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

It is time we toughen up sentences. It is time we make criminals pay for their actions, and it is time we respect our police for the bullshit they put up with daily.

Oh yeah...I think we should really do something in Israel quickly....they are getting out of hand. The whole lot of them. Not just Israel, but the whole middle east.

Food is my friend...

What a great idea....A Taste of Vancouver!

I am going to head downtown today, and eat my face off! All for the low low price of....50 cents to 3 dollars per sample. How do they stay in business? Actually, who cares, as long as the food is good. Today I am going to sample new foods I have never had before. I may also have a burger just because it is supposed to be the towns greatest burger. We shall see.

Hey...this one wasn't a negative post. I rawk!

These are a few of my most hated things....

I don't know if you can sing this to the tune of "Favorite Things", but feel free to try.

Star Jones Reynolds and War Memorial Pissers. Cop shooting bastards and fathers that help them. Zoos that breed and kill giraffe younglings. These are a few of my most hated things!

Ignorant people. Red light runners. Smokers, and spitters, and people that litter. Ignorant people who just want my change. Go get a job and wash off that damn mange!

Girls who wear camouflage and the boys who do love them. Olives, tomatos, and Idols with no rythym. These are a few of my most hated things!

When the car breaks. When my sink plugs. When I can't close my eyes. I simply try to forget these things. For these are the things I despise.

You know....it is really hard to keep doing it with other things to kind of fit. Especially when I am doing it off the top of my head, however, if you listen to the song, all they do is repeat anyhow, so all in all, for a few minutes of my time, off the top of my head, this was an adequate job.

With a little trying, and the song playing at the same time, you can really get it to fit.

Anyhow. Israel. Please...please...please....do not fall for the madness. If you buy into the Lebanon issue, you are forgetting the bigger picture here. Iran.

Draw the line, it goes right back to Iran. The Middle East is about to get mighty hot. I won't be surprised to see the desert turn to glass in the coming months.

Mushroom clouds are in our future once again. What a lovely time to bring a child into the world.
